About The Position

The Operator I, Warehouse is responsible for performing a wide range of general warehouse functions to support efficient and accurate product handling, storage, and distribution. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, this position involves preparing customer orders for shipment, operating forklifts and material handling equipment, receiving and storing products, and ensuring warehouse safety and cleanliness. This role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, physical endurance, and a strong attention to detail.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalency, required.
  • Forklift certification, required (company certifications within 30 days of hire)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of warehouse or distribution experience required; 2-5 years preferred.
  • Shipping and receiving experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and follow written and oral instructions clearly and accurately.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in how products work.
  • Proven attention to detail and commitment to quality and order accuracy.
  • Knowledge of proper storage procedures and material handling safety standards.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and warehouse technology (e.g., RF scanners, ERP systems, Microsoft Office, internet tools).
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, safety, and professional communication.
  • Ability to maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members, customers, vendors, and carrier personnel.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods to meet operational demands.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Warehouse Supervisor and/or Team Lead with daily operations and special projects as needed.
  • Accurately pick, pack, band, wrap, palletize, and label orders to prepare for safe and damage-free shipment.
  • Test functions and features of a set of products prior to shipment to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Receive incoming shipments including airfreight and containers; inspect for accuracy and damage and properly store items.
  • Stock inventory in designated warehouse locations, labeling with model/stock numbers when required.
  • Operate material-handling equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Accurately process orders and inventory movements through the company’s ERP system (SAP preferred).
  • Perform daily cycle counts and inventory checks as assigned, ensuring strict accuracy.
  • Support "Will Call" customer interactions and verify accuracy of hand-delivered orders.
  • Assist in the assembly of light equipment such as chain hoists, pallet jacks, and small parts as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Provide ideas for improved packaging or storage methods to enhance operational performance.
  • Assist Technical Support and other departments with warehousing-related tasks.
