About The Position

The Operations Vice President is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing various operational functions including Inbound and Outbound Warehouse, Fleet Services, Facilities Management, and Transportation. This position focuses on achieving key performance metrics, managing expenses, executing strategic initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the operations management team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a closely related field.
  • 10 years of professional experience with progressive levels of management experience, including 5-7 years in operational management.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent presentation skills to respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and solve practical problems.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software, with excellent computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver site-level execution of key corporate, market, and regional Operations initiatives.
  • Drive exceptional Customer Service through on-time delivery and post-ship service levels.
  • Champion continuous improvement across all Operations departments by implementing efficiency ideas and cost reduction measures.
  • Create a culture of care and collaboration within the site.
  • Adjust departmental activities, policies, and practices to meet or exceed key performance metrics and customer service level goals.
  • Prepare and execute the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) with direct input from the management team.
  • Oversee operating budget management including labor, benefits, supplies, and capital investments.
  • Evaluate fiscal metrics and adjust activities to meet or exceed performance expectations.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient upgrades and repairs.
  • Perform management functions including staff selection, compensation, development, and performance reviews.
  • Support other departments in achieving site and region goals.
  • Collaborate with the Region Leadership team on business expansion and facility reconfiguration.
  • Ensure compliance with internal/external policies and regulations, including safety and sanitation standards.
  • Create a safety culture to reduce operations-related injuries and costs.
  • Assist Safety Director with training initiatives and ensure contingency systems are in place.
  • Develop and maintain liaisons with local emergency management for crisis management plans.
  • Participate in company meetings and presentations to solicit new business opportunities.
  • Maintain associate relations through regular meetings and open communication channels.
