The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. The Technical Operations Specialist supports daily operations of the Doppler Radar Wind Profiler Systems (DRWP) and Ground Systems Technical Operations (GSTO). This role requires strong technical aptitude, adherence to detailed procedures, and the ability to perform work safely in a dynamic operational environment. Perform day-to-day operations and maintenance of DRWP and GSTO systems. Interpret and follow technical work instructions, engineering drawings, and system documentation. Support troubleshooting, repair, adjustment, and configuration of mechanical, electrical, and Antenna systems. Gather, monitor, and assess data using instrumentation and system interfaces. Ensure compliance with stringent work area rules, safety protocols, and operational standards. Communicate effectively with engineering, customers and management teams. Work varied schedules, including multiple shifts, overtime, and limited-notice assignments. Perform physical tasks including lifting (up to 40 lbs), working at heights, with the use fall protection equipment, and entering confined spaces.
