About The Position

This position is responsible to receive and ship grain from elevator, safely perform operations, and maintain the facility at The Arthur Companies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One or more years of experience preferred
  • Must maintain a driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Ability to use hand tools, shovels, and brooms
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to stand, walk, grasp, reach, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and drive
  • Visual ability to see at distance and close range, depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and color differentiation
  • Ability to maintain focused attention and situational awareness
  • Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures and operational instructions

Responsibilities

  • Operate the grain scale to accurately weigh inbound and outbound trucks and railcars
  • Verify load documentation, tickets, contracts, and destinations prior to loading or unloading
  • Direct truck traffic safely and efficiently on site, ensuring proper sequencing and flow
  • Coordinate with the Operations Leader to stage and prepare grain for shipment to designated destinations
  • Enter and maintain accurate scale tickets, shipping records, and inventory data
  • Load and unload grain into designated bins using conveyors and related equipment
  • Operate loaders as needed to manage grain flow, bin clean-out, and site housekeeping
  • Monitor grain movement to ensure correct product placement and prevent cross-contamination
  • Perform routine inspections of scale systems, conveyors, and loading equipment
  • Read, test, and monitor sensors and bearings on the Hazard Monitoring system to ensure proper operation
  • Identify, log, and report equipment malfunctions or operational issues to the Operations Leader
  • Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks (e.g., greasing bearings, replacing belts, minor repairs)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly scale house, pit, and surrounding work areas
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Work additional hours as required during peak harvest and shipping seasons
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient grain operations
