We have an IMMEDIATE opening for an Operations Technician at our Baytown III HyCO facility. This role will support the Baytown III site and 2 Satellite plants (1 off gas site in Mont Belvieu and 1 off gas site in Baytown). The incumbent will work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule. They will have the advantage of working and gaining experience from multiple sites and working alongside multiple disciplines and an experienced team. Baytown III consists of a World Class SMR with an integrated syngas cold box. All compressed gas products are transported via pipelines, which connect to our West Gulf Coast pipeline supply systems. The facility produces hydrogen, carbon monoxide and steam. You will be responsible for controlling and monitoring the processes that produce hydrogen and carbon monoxide (e.g., utility systems, compressors, rotating equipment, and DCS operation). You will be expected to maintain water chemistry, perform daily operational tasks, and preventative maintenance as required. This is a safety sensitive role.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Process Technology certificate or degree a plus.
  • Basic computer proficiency and software knowledge, including Microsoft Programs.
  • Previous work history and/or military experience.
  • Ability to read/understand piping and instrumentation drawings a plus.
  • Experience with personal computers and/or DCS systems.
  • Ability to work holidays and weekends in the event of a plant upset or vacation coverage.
  • Desire and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Valid and clean driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Site Work Instruction Manual and Job Safety Analysis Procedures.
  • Maintain Electronic logbook of operation activities.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating operating procedures.
  • Solve plant process upsets using various indicators and DCS trends.
  • Attend and contribute to monthly safety meetings.
  • Ensure that all plant safety, environmental and quality procedures are followed.
  • Inspect all work areas on a continuous basis for any mechanical problems, safety hazards and unusual operation conditions.
  • Keep work and supply areas in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
  • Issue safety work permits and perform lock out / tag out of various process equipment.
  • Perform Preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Help Optimize Maintenance work process and close the gap on any inefficiencies.
  • Operating heavy equipment (forklift, man-lift).
