About The Position

Operations Technician Level 3 is a senior technical contributor who performs complex manufacturing operations and examples leadership on the production floor. This role applied deep process knowledge, supports troubleshooting and process stability, and mentors less experienced technicians. The position operates with a high degree of autonomy and is trusted to uphold safety, quality, and operational standards in this manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Experience mentoring, training, or informally leading peers
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to get certified to operate forklift and telehandler
  • Able to acquire and maintain Employee Possessor (EP) status under the Safe Explosives Act (SEA).
  • Must possess a valid states driver's license
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on mechanical experience, and assembly experience
  • Must be able to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Proficient in reading/understanding blueprints, drawings, and technical diagrams

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of relevant manufacturing/operations experience
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality and supply chain
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and assorted hand tools
  • Able to work a physically demanding day (stand for long periods; work from your knees; ascend and descend ladders; lift, bend, twist, push and pull up to 50 lb, etc) while wearing protective equipment (respirator, coveralls, gloves, eye and ear protection, etc).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert in solid rocket motor manufacturing processes including tooling/assembly/disassembly, case surface prep, machining, and final assembly.
  • Lead and mentor Level 2 and Level 3 technicians; provide on-the-job training and certification support.
  • Independently execute complex manufacturing operations in compliance with AS9100, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Interface with Quality, Engineering, and Safety during nonconformance investigations and audits.
  • Champion safety culture and ensure strict adherence to explosive safety protocols.
