About The Position

The Operations Technical Specialist, Alternative Risk Solutions will work closely with the Alternative Risk Solutions - Captives Underwriting team, supporting and managing operational workflows. The Operations Technical Specialist, Captives will collaborate with operations team members and key business partners to provide support to the underwriters and brokers throughout the Captives policy lifecycle. The candidate will also work with a supporting team of Operations offshore team members to ensure all service level agreements are met and all operational services work is processed accurately & efficiently. The ideal candidate should have an in-depth understanding of the insurance industry, be a creative problem-solver with a skill for navigating different systems and an eye for detail.

Requirements

  • 3 -5 years’ experience in insurance industry
  • High school diploma, college degree preferred.
  • Strong computer and typing skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Focused eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Takes ownership and responsibility of performance and results.
  • Provides service excellence to internal and external partners, delivering an experience that exceeds the customer’s expectations.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Desire to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with GL, Commercial Auto and/or Workers Comp a plus.
  • Experience with IMS and ODEN Policy Terminator a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management of workflow of assigned underwriting products within the Alternative Risk Solutions – Captives business unit; to include Commercial Auto, GL and Workers Compensation.
  • Gain a strong understanding of business processes by leveraging standardized workflows and compliance guidelines.
  • Provide support to assigned underwriters throughout the policy lifecycle, which includes, but is not limited to clearance, binders, invoices, complex policies and endorsements, cancellations, renewals, non-renewals, and reinstatements.
  • Collaborate with the Operations offshore team, providing ongoing guidance, support and oversight as needed.
  • QA policy administration to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure all work is processed accurately and according to Service Level Agreements.
  • Collaborate with the Ascot Service Center as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with underwriters and brokers to secure the information necessary to accurately process the business.
  • Support finance, systems, data, and actuarial teams in ad-hoc tasks.
  • Identify areas for improvement, create and implement solutions when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
