SHIFT DET - Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America - Michigan) A BRIEF OVERVIEW The Operations Tech, Utility performs operations, conducts in-process inspections per specifications, and prepares product for coating. This position reports to the Supervisor, Operations and works with a team of Operations Technicians and Quality Control Inspectors.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare product surface for coating, which includes cleaning, marking and masking.
  • Perform utility operation by spraying binder and beads on the product surface using brushes and other hand tools.
  • Repeat this process multiple times on each product to achieve specifications.
  • Inspect product per specifications visually.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to specifications
  • Completes all required training.
  • Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product.
  • Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
  • Follow designated safety rules and regulations.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
  • Dimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, comparators, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required.
  • Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
  • Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products
  • Reinforces safety expectations.
  • Ensures safety operating practices are demonstrated.
  • Reports issues/concerns to Supervisor.
  • Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
