We’re looking for an Operations Technology Product Management Intern to join the Platform Product and Design Team for the summer. In this role, you’ll support the team responsible for building and improving the systems that power Avant’s customer service and operations teams. This includes tools used by our contact center, internal workflows that support complaints and disputes, and emerging AI-enabled experiences that help teams serve customers more effectively. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help investigate customer pain points, analyze operational feedback, and support technology initiatives that improve the customer experience while helping our teams operate more efficiently at scale.

Requirements

  • You’re an undergraduate or graduate student in Business, Statistics, Engineering, Math, or a related field
  • You’re able to work onsite in Chicago, IL at least 3 days per week
  • You enjoy solving problems and don’t give up easily when something is unclear
  • You’re curious and like figuring out how systems work
  • You’re comfortable working with data and numbers (even if you’re still learning tools)
  • You can communicate clearly and aren’t afraid to ask questions
  • You can operate with some autonomy and adapt when priorities shift
  • You want exposure to how real business decisions get made

Responsibilities

  • Support operations technology initiatives focused on improving the customer experience and operational efficiency
  • Assist with managing projects that enhance internal tools, workflows, or customer-facing processes
  • Build dashboards that consolidate customer and operational feedback, making insights easier for teams to consume and act on
  • Analyze customer and operations feedback to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Investigate large customer pain points and help develop recommendations that inform the product roadmap
  • Partner with Operations, Design, Business, Data, and Engineering teams to translate insights into actionable improvements
