About The Position

You’ll be part of a great team that turns raw materials into hot-rolled band steel while maintaining safety and quality standards. You might work in an area that handles raw materials, or you could be involved with melting, casting, and rolling. Our schedules allow you to enjoy plenty of time off! You’ll work a 12-hour shift for 3 or 4 days from 7am to 7pm for four weeks, then swing and work 12-hour shifts 7pm to 7am for 3 or 4 days for another 4 weeks, then swing back to days. (48 hours one week; 36 hours the next. And each week, you’ll have either 3 or 4 days off.) You’re guaranteed to earn at least $50,000 in total compensation during your first year. You’ll get a $2,000 sign-on bonus for joining our team. Medical, Dental and Vision insurance starts your first day of employment. Earn pay increases for improving your skills in a wide range of tasks and abilities. 401k contribution-outstanding company match of $.50 on the dollar up to first 6% AND 4.5% of your GROSS wages bi-weekly towards your retirement. Total company contribution of 7.5% from NSBSL and this does not include your contribution! You’ll have access to our free onsite fitness center that’s open 24/7, 365 days a year. You’ll play an important role in meeting deadlines by reaching daily work goals. You’ll meet our quality standards and maximize efficiency, supporting our efforts for continuous improvement. That includes participating in training, achieving key performance indicators, and improving safety, product quality, operational stability, and security. You’ll need to work safely around heavy equipment and machinery. That means following strict policies for safety, housekeeping, set-up standards, and environmental compliance. While out in the plant, you’ll wear safety glasses, a long-sleeve fire retardant shirt, earplugs, and metatarsal boots. You’ll prove yourself each day by working in all non-controlled temperature environments, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, climbing stairs, standing, or walking for long periods.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an unlimited basis.
  • No sponsorship is available.
  • 18 years of age or older.
