About The Position

The Operations Team Lead works directly for the Facility Supervisor. This position coordinates the work load and schedule for Tire processing. The lead oversees the daily operations of this team for processing material, operates heavy equipment such as Trackhoe(S), Skid Steer, Tractor trucks, Grapple Truck, Forklifts, etc. and complies with all OSHA, SCDHEC and DOT (as applicable), requirements while maximizing production and minimizing expenses SAFELY.

Requirements

  • Good communications skills
  • Ability to follow and give instructions and communicate appropriate information as necessary to effectively perform job duties
  • Good driving record and valid state issued Driver’s license
  • Ability to operate computers including Excel and Word programs
  • Work flexible hours if required
  • Requires standing, walking, carrying, stooping, crouching, sitting, grasping and reaching
  • May require lifting, pulling and/or pushing up to 50 lbs
  • Travel as required
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical activity
  • Ability to work flexible hours or weekends during emergency situations such as shredder is down
  • Ability to work in hot and cold (>90◦ F and <32◦ F) environments for extended periods of time.
  • Shift Work Mon.-Fri. 7am to 4pm (1 hour lunch)

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, procedures and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Oversees facility technicians to perform operations in all Tire Processing areas.
  • Identify ways to maximize production, while minimizing costs through motivation, innovation and increased efficiency
  • Coordinate with Operations Coordinator to ensure scheduling needs are met.
  • Maintain daily inventory on all material and equipment associated with Tires
  • Ensure cleanliness of all grounds around the process areas.
  • Has the ability to wear and properly use a variety of Levels A, B, C, & D Personal Protective Equipment including face, hand, foot, and eye protection.
  • Operates heavy equipment to include Trackhoe(s), Skid Steer, Tractor Trucks, Grapple Truck, Forklift and other required equipment as needed.
  • Motivates workers and promotes a team environment.
  • Performs daily safety talks to employees at beginning of shift
  • Completes required paperwork including, operational documents, JSA’s and Safety Audits and inspections.
  • Advise Maintenance of equipment malfunctions that require maintenance
  • Complete Daily status reports on production and equipment
  • Attend management meetings and present status reports on production and equipment
  • Is available for “On Call” duty in a rotating group and when emergencies or special situations arise.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL and act as a backup driver for the tire collection program.
  • A team player that leads by example.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management as required by the needs of the business.
