About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform unit inventories to ensure appropriate stocking levels of all MEDIC units including ambulance, logistics vehicles, and any other units which may carry medical equipment and/or supplies Check off, and restock ALS and BLS units at end of shift to ensure operational readiness Assist with crew changes of numerous units at various times, communicate with Operations Assistant during “rolling line-up” assignments, and assist field crews with needs related to deployment; drives ambulance forward to shoreline or to the “ready line” during check-off. Handle stock while keeping accurate records of all activity surrounding the flow of items received and distributed, while using Agency’s Operative IQ software to track unit supplies and equipment Deliver and/or pick up equipment and supplies as needed to hospitals and posts Restock equipment boxes and rebuild supply bins Handle, log and distribute numerous medications to include controlled substances, while maintaining chain of custody and performing drug counts. Assist and perform inspections for accreditation (CAAS) Maintain a clean and organized work space to include upkeep of Agency equipment and vehicles when transporting vehicles or equipment Completes and documents loss/damages of equipment or products Maintain professional communication particularly while using two-way radio activity Heavy lifting required, up to 100 pounds Attend periodic training meetings in order to stay informed of new policies, procedures, and equipment. May be called upon to respond to an emergency scene In addition to the above-listed duties, the incumbent is expected to work with and without direct supervision and is accountable for preparing ambulances for duty in treating the sick and injured. Attention to detail is essential as oversights or mistakes may directly affect patient care in the field and result if further injury, permanent disability or death to a patient and/or legal action against the Agency or Mecklenburg County Overtime may be considered an essential function of this role. May be called upon to bring supplies and equipment to an emergency scene QUALIFICATIONS: Active NC/SC driver's license is required High School diploma or general education degree (G.E.D); or equivalent combination of education and experience Basic knowledge of EMS systems Must complete and pass MDD/CVOC driver training after hire Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, such as, but not limited to pallet jacks, ramps, ladders and dolly PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requirements

  • Active NC/SC driver's license is required
  • High School diploma or general education degree (G.E.D); or equivalent combination of education and experience
