About The Position

We are seeking an Operations Support Specialist to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico. Responsibilities Oversight of overarching mission deliverables for construction activities and operations, ensuring quality, accuracy, efficiency, and successful completion. Responsible for safety and timely delivery of work in a Hazard Category 2, Security Classification 2 radiological facility, in compliance with Laboratory policies and regulatory requirements. Organize operations in construction and field controls. Ensure timely completion of discrete technical activities or operational projects. Coordinate project teams to ensure proper staffing and execution of construction projects. Provide group support services to assist various construction projects. Ensure consistent application of construction engineering standards and practices across projects. Ensure documentation adequacy and develop/improve processes when necessary. Manage budgets, provide oversight for workers and subcontractors, and communicate effectively with stakeholders and customers. Serve as day-to-day technical interface between facility operations and programmatic tenants. Assist with business operations functions and development/delivery of facility operations programs, policies, processes, and procedures. Provide guidance on governmental regulations and Laboratory guidelines. Conduct incident and general issues management investigations and reporting. Participate in or supports readiness reviews for operations. Support activity approval processes. Develop and maintain required operational documentation and procedural manuals. Plan and manage budgets. Provide compliance and quality-related support functions, including training development and delivery, tracking and assurance of employee training, property accountability, and access control. The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons. This lab possesses unique capabilities in neutron scattering, enhanced surveillance, radiography, and plutonium science and engineering (energy.gov). GEM Technologies, Inc. Requirements

  • Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree and 15+ years of experience in the construction field and 5 years of experience supporting the DOE mission; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
  • Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
  • Professional and safety certifications relevant to DOE and nuclear construction environments.
