About The Position

The Operations Support Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting a national security program by ensuring the success of ongoing and emerging operational programs. This position involves coordinating actions, maintaining situational awareness, and supporting the preparation and execution of contingency operations and emergency action plans. The specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to mission readiness and operational excellence.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree and 3+ years of experience in strategic/operational plan development.
• Experience in intergovernmental/interagency deliberate planning and rapid response planning.
• Technical skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

• Experience working in an operations center environment.
• Ability to carry weight in excess of 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the preparation and maintenance of contingency operation and emergency action plans.
• Developing draft exercise plans to test new concepts and support mission readiness.
• Conducting assessments and evaluations of existing and new mission-essential processes.
• Performing watch officer tasks, including monitoring communications and providing timely information.
• Providing draft reports for events and incidents related to organizational activities.
• Facilitating communications and automated equipment technologies in an operations center.
• Preparing for training, testing, and exercise opportunities, both planned and unplanned.
• Assessing and evaluating tests and exercises, providing recommendations for capability development.
• Demonstrating proficiency with operation center systems and preparing supporting materials.
