This temporary position is with NC State Board of Elections, located at 430 North Salisbury Street, Raleigh NC, Wake County. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). The NC State Board of Elections is seeking a savvy Operations Support / Program Coordinator I for a temporary assignment. This position requires presence onsite during business hours, five days a week (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm). Below is an overview of the duties performed by the selected candidate:

Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of administrative and office techniques.
  • Ability to practice effective communication in oral and written form.
  • Ability to learn the purpose of the program’s organization including its mission, services, clients and measures of business effectiveness.
  • Skill in organizing work flow and coordinating activities.
  • Skill in modifying processes using applicable technology, web-based data systems and programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive phone calls from the public and provide stellar customer service
  • Provide Tier-1 responses for voter registration, precinct locations and hours of operation, absentee ballot procedures, and campaign finance inquiries
  • Escalate Tier-2 or Tier-3 questions to the appropriate division based on agency defined guidelines
  • Open and date stamp voter registration forms
  • Sort forms by county and scan them into county database
  • Prepare forms for mailing to respective county
  • Assist in filing voter registration form orders for county boards of election and voter registration drives
  • Prepare voter cancellation lists for county distribution in support of list maintenance processes
  • Monitor email inboxes including Admin, Absentee, Voter ID, and General Elections
  • Provide Tier-1 responses for topics such as voter registration, precinct locations and hours of operation, absentee ballot procedures, and campaign finance
  • Escalate Tier-2 or Tier-3 questions to appropriate division based on provided guidelines
  • Route tickets in a help desk environment to the appropriate division based on agency defined guidelines
  • Receive mail returned as undeliverable
  • Complete agency prescribed processes for documenting undelivered mail
  • Prepare unreturned mail for its next destination or agency retention
