About The Position

The Operations Support Specialist 3 is responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and compliant delivery of construction and operational projects in a Hazard Category 2 Security Classification 2 radiological facility. They oversee technical activities, manage budgets, provide guidance to staff and subcontractors, and ensure adherence to engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and Laboratory policies. Collaborating with stakeholders, they organize operations, improve processes, and drive successful end-to-end completion of mission-critical deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 15+ years of experience in the construction field, including 5+ years supporting the DOE mission
  • Professional and safety certifications relevant to construction in the DOE and nuclear complex are required
  • Qualifications as an Electrical Field Work Supervisor, Field Work Supervisor, or Responsible (Line) Manager are preferred
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work through problems quickly and effectively and define a clear path to resolution

Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction and facility operations, ensuring safe, timely, and compliant completion of deliverables
  • Manage coordination between construction teams, operational groups, and subcontractors to execute projects efficiently
  • Ensure adherence to Laboratory policies, DOE/NNSA standards, and engineering best practices
  • Lead project planning, budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation to achieve mission objectives
  • Develop, maintain, and improve processes, procedures, and documentation to support operational efficiency and compliance
  • Participate in safety, compliance, and readiness review activities, providing recommendations to mitigate risks
  • Guide staff and subcontractors through training, technical direction, and mentorship
  • Communicate with stakeholders and leadership to ensure successful execution of technical and operational projects
