About The Position

The Operations Support Specialist 2 provides operational and project coordination support for construction and facility activities within a high-hazard radiological environment. They act as the technical interface between facility operations and programmatic tenants, supporting safe, compliant, and efficient execution of work, including development and maintenance of processes, procedures, and operational documentation. Collaborating with teams, stakeholders, and leadership, they assist with planning, budgeting, training, compliance activities, and readiness reviews to ensure smooth facility operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience, with exposure to construction, maintenance, or facility operations
  • Knowledge of DOE Order 426.2, Laboratory policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience supporting operational projects, safety compliance, and process or documentationdevelopment
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work through problems quickly and effectively and define a clear path to resolution

Responsibilities

  • Support construction and facility operations to ensure safe,timely, and compliant completion of deliverables
  • Serve as a technical liaison between facility operations and programmatic tenants, providing guidance on regulations and Laboratory policies
  • Assist with incident investigations, readiness reviews, and approvals to support compliance and operational readiness
  • Develop, maintain, and improve operational documentation, procedures, and training materials
  • Support planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination for operational and technical activities
  • Provide operational and administrative support, including property accountability, access control, and compliance tracking
  • Communicate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, stakeholders, and leadership to facilitate smooth operations
