About The Position

The Operations Support Specialist 1 supports the safe, timely, and compliant completion of construction and operational deliverables in a Hazard Category 2 Security Classification 2 radiological facility. They assist in coordinating technical activities, planning projects, and supporting staff and subcontractors to ensure adherence to Laboratory policies, DOE/NNSA standards, and regulatory requirements. Collaborating with stakeholders and project teams, they help maintain processes, documentation, and engineering practices to achieve successful mission outcomes.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 2+ years of experience in construction, maintenance, or fabrication, with exposure to DOE projects desirable
  • Professional and safety certifications relevant to construction in the DOE and nuclear complex are required
  • Qualifications as an Electrical Field Work Supervisor, Field Work Supervisor, or Responsible (Line) Manager are preferred
  • Knowledge of DOE/NNSA standards, Laboratory policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work through problems quickly and effectively and define a clear path to resolution

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the oversight of construction and facility operations, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely completion of deliverables
  • Support coordination between construction teams, operational groups, and subcontractors for technical and field activities
  • Ensure compliance with Laboratory policies, DOE/NNSA standards, and applicable safety requirements
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, staffing, and resource coordination
  • Support process, procedure, and documentation development and maintenance
  • Provide support for safety, compliance, and readiness activities, including risk mitigation recommendations
  • Assist in training delivery and guidance for staff and subcontractors as needed
  • Communicate with stakeholders, leadership, project teams, and subcontractors to facilitate successful execution of assigned tasks
