About The Position

The candidate is responsible for all terminal operations involved in the handling of customer products. This includes responsibility for customer fulfillment, operational excellence, budget control as it pertains to operations, enforcement of all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma required.
  • Bachelors degree in General Business Management, Engineering, or Chemistry preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an industrial unionized setting.
  • Oil or chemical terminaling or facility processing is preferred.
  • Must have practical knowledge of environmental regulations; chemical operations and/or chemistry; maintenance skills.
  • Must be computer literate with specific knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Must be able to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct daily operations of the terminal in a safe, cost efficient and customer focused manner.
  • Use of team work to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Work with customer service group to promptly resolve customer complaints and deviations.
  • Responsible for effective supervision of personnel involved in the handling of customer's products by ensuring the product from the vessels, tank cars, and tank trucks is handled with maximum efficiency and minimum cost while maintaining product integrity.
  • Responsible for inputting and completion of orders into computer systems as required.
  • Responsible for preparing, conducting and/or recommending professional training and development for subordinates.
  • Required to be an active member of the terminal leadership in the evaluation and direction of terminal efforts.
  • Management presence 24/7 to manage incidents, make decisions, drive productivity, customer liaison, security responsibilities.
  • Training (various operational, procedural, equipment).
  • Conduct Practical Field Evaluations.
  • Assistance to EHS department with various inspections tracking / logging, enforcement.
  • Assistance for Maintenance / Engineering with permits, contractor training, contractor management.
  • Weekend scale coverage.
  • Back up order processing / packaging.
  • Scheduling of vessels, manpower, trucks.
  • Vacation breaking.
