The Airport Operations Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Operations Department and airport operations on an assigned shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring compliance with FAR Part 139. This position directly supervises Airport Operations Coordinators and is tasked with various essential duties to maintain safety and operational efficiency at Teterboro Airport (TEB).

  • Oversee airfield safety by identifying, preventing, responding to, and removing hazards to aviation.
  • Conduct inspections and maintain records of all aeronautical areas to ensure compliance with FAR Part 139.
  • Supervise snow removal operations on assigned shifts.
  • Issue applicable NOTAMS.
  • Act as a liaison with Air Traffic Control and emergency response agencies during airport emergencies.
  • Comply with wildlife control procedures outlined in the TEB Wildlife Hazard Management Plan.
  • Coordinate construction and maintenance activities to minimize interference with airport operations.
  • Support Safety Management Systems requirements including documentation and testing.
  • Conduct tenant AOA driver training and ensure compliance.
  • Perform hourly weather observations.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable FARs and Advisory Circulars.
  • Record all aircraft operations for billing and noise abatement compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, taking disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Supervise and coordinate contract services related to airport operations.
  • Monitor noise abatement practices of aircraft utilizing the airport.
  • Operate phones, radios, and security systems.
  • Maintain customer contacts through effective communication.
  • Represent the Manager, Airport Services in routine operational matters.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or related field.
  • Prior work experience in airport operations and/or airline operations; pilot certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated supervisory capability.
  • Thorough knowledge of or experience in general aviation.
  • Ability to become certified in airport-related snow removal techniques and equipment operation within specified timeframes.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to maintain a compatible driving record.
  • Ability to qualify for performance weather observations and operate heavy equipment.
  • Willingness to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
