About The Position

The Operations Supervisor - Weekend Shift is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all operational activities during the weekend, ensuring efficient and safe warehouse operations, and contributing to the timely and accurate distribution of medical-surgical products. This role focuses on maintaining productivity, quality, and compliance standards within the distribution center.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Typically requires 3+ years of subject matter experience including exhibiting leadership capabilities.
  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory or lead role within a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience managing teams in a fast-paced operational setting, preferably with weekend shift responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to train, coach, and develop team members effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to operate various warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and obtain necessary certifications.
  • Must be able to work consistently on weekend shifts (e.g., Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday).
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and motivate a team of warehouse associates during the weekend shifts, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor daily operational tasks, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control, to meet performance metrics and customer service levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and OSHA standards, promoting a culture of safety among team members.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues and bottlenecks, implementing corrective actions to maintain workflow and minimize disruptions.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional development of direct reports.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to optimize processes, share best practices, and achieve overall distribution center objectives.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and assist in resolving discrepancies through cycle counting and investigation.
  • Prepare and present reports on shift performance, productivity, and key operational metrics to management.
  • Operate warehouse equipment as needed (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and ensure proper maintenance and safety checks are performed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
