About The Position

The Operations Supervisor at Penske Logistics is responsible for providing operational leadership at a single location, ensuring that daily tasks and activities are executed effectively. Responsibilities

  • Establish and sustain training and competency for all supervisors and associates.
  • Communicate specific and measurable performance standards.
  • Interview hourly associates and provide hiring recommendations.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance standards, providing coaching and counseling as needed.
  • Motivate and engage associates by focusing on team accomplishments and recognition.
  • Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading/unloading, dispatch, and documentation control.
  • Conduct team meetings and evaluate preferred work methods to increase productivity.
  • Provide relief coverage for operational duties during absences.
  • Ensure operational compliance and correct exception resolution through knowledge of site operating systems.
  • Complete necessary records and reports accurately and timely.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, tracking MPG, returns, and damages.
  • Manage associates' working hours to minimize overtime and meet productivity targets.
  • Align day-to-day management with the location's safety strategy and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Communicate, train, and provide feedback to associates for safe performance.
  • Understand and work to meet location-specific customer goals and objectives.
  • Plan work assignments for effective use of fleet equipment and ensure safe operation of equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors for equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance schedules.
