About The Position

The Operations Supervisor, Quality is responsible for overseeing the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of customs brokerage activities, with a focus on broker referrals, updates to entry summary, audit, and the timely payment of duties. This role ensures that all transactions are completed in accordance with US Customs regulations, client requirements, and Buckland’s quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in International Trade, Logistics, Business, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years in custom brokerage or logistics experience.
  • Intermediate MS Office knowledge.
  • High level of organization, time management and attention to detail.
  • Leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with completion of complex entries.
  • Able to function in a time sensitive environment.
  • Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times.
  • Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in CND/USA/MX

Nice To Haves

  • CCS Designation or LCHB training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee timely submission of entry filings to US Customs.
  • Oversee all ACH statement payments including researching/responding to any client related issues.
  • Run internal and external reports for audits, data analysis, and cross reference.
  • Supervise broker referral process and ensure all required information is obtained and updated prior to finalized entry summary submission.
  • Research tariff and classification of goods to comply with US Customs regulations as required.
  • Handle requests from internal and external clients in a prioritized, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Maintain client relationship and attend conference calls and business reviews.
  • Consult with leadership on problems related to client data and complex related tariffs.
  • Ensure all onboarding of new clients or services meet the compliance standards.
  • Ability to manage a group of 15 to 20 employees.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Assign tasks to team members.
  • Hire and Terminate employees.
  • Assists with training and guidance of direct reports.
  • Monitor work volumes of direct reports to ensure entries are completed to customs regulations guidelines.
  • Supervise team members, conduct team meetings, monitor attendance, and work schedules.
