The Operations Supervisor is a pivotal role within the organization, responsible for the safe execution of daily operational plans and strategies. This position requires effective management, leadership, and resource allocation to ensure that all operational activities align with the company's safety, quality, efficiency, and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The Operations Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining product safety, quality, legality, and integrity, ensuring that all processes are compliant with established standards. In this role, the supervisor will oversee at least two full-time direct reports, engaging in various supervisory responsibilities such as recommending hiring decisions, coaching team members, facilitating skills development, and managing staff productivity. The supervisor will also be responsible for performance management, which includes recognizing achievements and addressing disciplinary actions when necessary. Daily, weekly, and monthly production activities within warehouse operations fall under the supervisor's purview, requiring the preparation and distribution of various reports essential for smooth operations. The Operations Supervisor must ensure that work schedules are implemented correctly, jobs are assigned effectively, and completed properly. This includes scheduling vacations and time off in a manner that minimizes disruption to the department while meeting customer needs. Active engagement on the floor is crucial, as the supervisor will lead and supervise teammates, ensuring adherence to work instructions, daily workflow activities, and safety practices through daily operational meetings. Promoting a culture of safety is paramount, and the supervisor will conduct weekly safety meetings, participate in safety training, and maintain a clean and orderly work environment that meets corporate standards. The supervisor will also develop a productive work team through cross-training, effective communication, and positive motivational techniques, facilitating seamless handoffs and ensuring key information is communicated to peers, teammates, and management. The ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment and provide courteous customer service in high-pressure situations is essential. Additionally, the supervisor will assist the Operations Manager with special projects and help maintain the security of the facility.
