The primary purpose of this role is to lead and integrate daily plant operations to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable production execution in alignment with site objectives. The Operations Superintendent provides direct oversight of day-to-day manufacturing activities, coordinates across departments, supports front line leadership, and ensures workforce readiness through effective training and scheduling. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Management Coordination • Direct and support Shift Managers in daily operations to ensure efficient and reliable production execution. • Proactively address issues to minimize production disruptions and delays. • Provide interim coverage for vacant Shift Manager roles as required. • Oversee the training and development of Shift Managers to build leadership capability and operational consistency. Shift Manager Support • Direct and support Shift Managers in daily operations to ensure efficient and reliable production execution. • Proactively address issues to minimize production disruptions and delays. • Provide interim coverage for vacant Shift Manager roles as required. • Oversee the training and development of Shift Managers to build leadership capability and operational consistency. Safety and Compliance • Ensure daily operations are executed in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including investigation and corrective action for incidents and deficiencies. • Coordinate with shift managers to ensure that all work done by MGP employees or contractors is done according to proper procedures. • Ensure that any and all deficiencies/incidents are investigated and corrected promptly. Training and Documentation • Oversee the Training Coordinator to ensure site training requirements are met and compliance goals are maintained. • Coordinate and support training delivery and scheduling as needed to meet operational and regulatory needs. Scheduling • Responsible for all aspects of Bargaining employee scheduling. • Work with Human Resources to ensure all budgeted bargaining unit positions are filled to support operational staffing requirements. • Integrate the production operators scheduling as needed to fit Operational Training needs. WHO WE ARE LOOKIN FOR: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field required. Equivalent operational leadership experience may be considered. • Minimum of five (5) years of operational management experience in a distillery or ingredients manufacturing environment required. Ten (10) to twelve (12) years preferred. • Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing processes, food grade manufacturing practices, and mechanical systems sufficient to support troubleshooting and operational decision making. • Alcohol and food production knowledge required • SAP experience preferred • Quality Management • SEMs • SOP creation and management preferred • Microsoft Excel experience required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Type of Equipment Operated: Includes frequently using office equipment, computer software programs, manuals, books, or other written resources, hand tools, power tools, two-way radios, and other tools/equipment/resources; Includes use of sanitation equipment and lab/field equipment.
