About The Position

To provide leadership and support to the operations personnel on the daily activities for the Olefins Division. To assure high quality product to our downstream customer. To meet production targets set by our management. To make sure that all personnel in our facility are following policies and procedures pertaining to safe work practices. To meet the environmental quality standards by reducing emissions to the environment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of ten (10) plus years of experience in a petrochemical plant setting dependent upon education. Olefins process experience & DCS certification preferred.
  • Personal computer and applicable software including the ability to learn new systems that the company introduces
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good business writing ability
  • Able to control the process on DCS (Process computers/controllers)
  • Capable of working on miscellaneous office machines (fax, copy, etc.)
  • Possess knowledge of Analytical Instruments
  • High School diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 10 years direct job-related experience required; or Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of direct job-related experience; or Associates degree with 8 years of direct job-related experience required.
  • Will require training in Company Policies and Procedures after hire.
  • Current employees must meet all technical and safety training requirements for current position, as specified in the Master Training Plan.

Responsibilities

  • Improvement Project Coordination: Evaluate Olefins for process deficiencies to identify root causes. Identify improvement to eliminate or minimize deficiencies. Propose projects to implement. Follow-up to ensure timely completions. Ensure completion of pre-startup safety reviews prior to commissioning. Coordinate recommissioning and startup. Monitor benefits realized by improvements implemented. Facilitate project closures to meet prescribed time schedules.
  • Turnaround Coordination: Identify / issue work orders for Olefins maintenance repair and improvement items that must be performed during unit turnarounds. Prepare and update detailed schedules to help ensure all identified activities are completed within the available window. Ensure materials and labor is ready per schedule. Assist in coordination of operations personnel activities. Participate in critiques after turnaround and implement action items as assigned
  • Process Troubleshooting: Review all daily logs, Supervisory logs, electronic data trends and supporting records to ensure proper operation of critical Olefins process equipment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance unit personnel to identify process equipment abnormal root causes. Assist operations personnel in troubleshooting to correct abnormalities and deficiencies as needed.
  • Auditing: Conduct weekly field inspections of Olefins Division areas to identify areas of safety, environmental, or production deficiencies and report to management as needed to address deficiencies. Follow-up on findings to ensure proper corrective action is taken in a timely manner.
  • THM: Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant in like new condition.
