About The Position

The Operations Specialist at Kinder Morgan is responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of gas and liquid pipelines, compressor stations, and related facilities. This role involves ensuring the efficient performance of equipment, diagnosing and repairing issues, and maintaining safety and compliance standards. The position requires working in a rotating shift schedule with on-call responsibilities, contributing to the overall operational excellence of the company.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of compressors, pump stations, and pipeline system operations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and piping diagrams.
• Experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases and high/low pressure systems.
• Possess a valid driver's license and meet company insurability requirements.
• May require a commercial driver's license and compliance with DOT regulations.
• Achieve and maintain all OQ qualifications and progression requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office and company software).
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pipelines, compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
• Start, stop, and operate engines and pumps within defined parameters.
• Ensure cost-effective and efficient performance of all equipment at compressor stations and related facilities.
• Diagnose and repair engines, turbines, pumps, seals, valves, and instruments.
• Install, repair, and maintain valves, pipeline appurtenances, and corrosion control systems.
• Maintain and upkeep all facilities and equipment, including pipeline right-of-way and gathering areas.
• Represent the company during contacts with landowners and public officials.
• Oversee construction and maintenance activities performed by third parties.
• Train and oversee company and third-party personnel as required.
• Perform compliance activities with governmental regulations.
• Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
• Participate in safety programs and initiatives.
• Complete all applicable documentation and record keeping.
