About The Position

Purpose: The Operations Specialist supports the daily plant operations by coordinating production activities and optimizing workflows, and ensuring products are manufactured safely, on schedule, and accordance with design specifications. The role serves as a key liaison between production, quality control, and design teams, promoting clear communication, continuous improvement, and operational consistency. Essential Functions: Perform all job duties in accordance with company safety and environmental policies and procedures without exception. Adhere to all company policies and procedures while promoting and adhering to company values. Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing daily plant operations and production activities Monitor workflow efficiency and adjust labor, equipment and resources to meet production and productivity targets Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput and reduce downtime, and enhance overall efficiency Develop and implement and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) to drive consistency and operational excellence across production lines Establish and promote best practices to standardize processes and improve performance across all production activities. Collaborate with production, quality control, maintenance and design teams to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with specifications and project requirements. Identify and resolve production or design discrepancies in real time Verify that formwork, reinforcement placement, and finishing meet established standards and project specifications. Develop and maintain production schedules aligned with project timelines and delivery commitments. Monitor progress against schedules and proactively communicate delays, risks, and required adjustments. Support inventory management and material planning to prevent shortages and production disruptions. Assist in troubleshooting equipment and operational challenges in coordination with maintenance teams. Train, mentor, and develop production associates to enhance skillsets and performance Assist in evaluating team performance and supporting workforce planning needs Participate in monthly safety meetings with plant personnel. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in precast concrete, construction or industrial manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of production processes, scheduling and workflow coordination in a plant or jobsite environment.
  • Basic understanding of product and construction drawings, specifications and quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coach employees
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across production, quality, design and maintenance teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as needed, to support production schedules.
  • Valid driver’s license in state of residence with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the plant and production areas.
  • Ability to navigate uneven surfaces, climb stairs, and access elevated work areas as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to safely work around heavy equipment, machinery and moving parts.
  • Sufficient vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to safety perform essential job functions.
