About The Position
The Operations Specialist at Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient member transactions through various channels, including telephone and digital platforms. This position is responsible for receiving and processing member transactions, conducting back-office processing, and maintaining accurate records to support the credit union's operations. The Operations Specialist will interact directly with members, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of financial transactions and inquiries. This role requires a strong focus on detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all member interactions are handled professionally and efficiently. In this position, the Operations Specialist will be tasked with answering phone calls and processing member transactions and inquiries accurately and quickly. This includes greeting members in a friendly manner, utilizing soft transfer methods for calls, and handling cash advances on credit and debit cards. The specialist will also be responsible for maintaining proper security measures for identifying members, processing loan and credit card payments, and addressing online banking inquiries. Additionally, the role involves conducting various back-office processes such as ACH transactions, drafts, debit card management, ATM balancing, and fraud processing. The Operations Specialist will also assist members with research requests, cross-sell credit union services when appropriate, and provide routine information on available services. This position requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as the specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate records on accounts, updating member information, and performing account closures and pre-authorizations. Overall, the Operations Specialist is a vital part of the credit union's commitment to providing excellent service to its members while ensuring compliance with operational procedures.
