About The Position

The Operations Site Lead at American Tower is responsible for frontline representation in the field, managing maintenance and repairs of tower assets, and ensuring high standards of data quality through various data collection methods, including the use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). This role involves extensive travel and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support the Network Operations department and meet customer service level agreements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in telecommunications or a related field required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver's license, and a demonstrated safe driving record.
  • Must have, or within a year of hire obtain, FAA Part 107 Certification to operate UAS.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to use additional Company software applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and traverse developed and undeveloped construction sites.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within agreed timeframes.

Nice To Haves

  • Vendor management experience, real-estate management experience, or a civil construction background preferred.
  • Knowledge of radio transmitters, receivers, antennas, radio frequency, wireless, or ethernet backhaul experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine site audits on assets in an assigned area/zone efficiently and cost-effectively using UAS and other data collection tools.
  • Ensure all assets meet safety, compliance, and asset integrity standards by identifying and documenting discrepancies and following through on needed remediation.
  • Engage with customers and vendors to manage projects, ensuring timelines and safety standards are met during pre-construction meetings and post-construction site walks.
  • Respond quickly to any issues with the Company's back-up generators, fiber-based networks, or emergency response to critical events.
  • Perform approximately 75% of the role outside of a conventional office environment visiting assets in a Company vehicle.
