About The Position

The Shift Supervisor at Talen Energy's Martins Creek power plant is responsible for overseeing the safe operations, maintenance, and modifications of the facility, which operates on dual fuel (natural gas and oil) with a total output of 1700 MW. This role includes providing leadership and direction to engineering, contractors, and plant personnel, ensuring compliance with safety and operational goals, and managing both outage and non-outage work management functions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years power generation experience, specifically in operation and maintenance of Combustion and Steam turbines and Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG).
• Working knowledge of power plant design, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Working knowledge of the capital and O&M budget process.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, direction, and leadership to the plant operations and maintenance staff.
• Develop and implement plant maintenance strategies for safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the power plant.
• Identify new O&M and Capital Projects and resolve technical issues related to the operation of the plant.
• Perform Project Management and Engineering duties for plant O&M and Capital projects, including project coordination and contract administration.
• Perform day-to-day troubleshooting on equipment to support on-time startups and reliable unit operation.
• Oversee and manage preventative and predictive maintenance activities, ensuring efficiency within budget constraints.
• Support plant safety, environmental, and operational goals through compliant plant operation and proper prioritization of the work management process.
• Schedule resources to support scheduled activities including O&M support, vendor support, and training.
