We are seeking a Operations Shift Leader for our First Quality Retail Services facility located in Lewistown, PA. This position will be responsible to le ad all production team members on crew (and all plant team members on off hours, nights and weekends) and manage company assets to safely maximize production of excellent quality product.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one to two years of experience in a leadership capacity
  • Advanced knowledge of all processes and equipment
  • Standard knowledge of forklift operation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, computer skills, reasoning, and mathematical skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Outlook & Excel)

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years of college courses (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Follows and ensures accountability for all safety rules and policies and drives a culture of personal responsibility and keeping each other safe
  • Follows and ensures accountability for all necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations
  • Monitors workflow and coordinates production with appropriate departments
  • Plans production schedules to ensure maximum utilization of equipment and team members
  • Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so
  • Participates in Daily Operations Meetings (DOM)
  • Ensures proper communications and plans to shift support and crews
  • Verifies communication of process changes and quality procedure/specification changes
  • Submits work requests to correct issues that can be resolved by Support Teams
  • Demonstrates and verifies 100% compliance of safety best practices with team members (PPE, LOTO, cleaning, no jewelry, loose fitting clothing, etc.)
  • Assures personal participation and team verification for 100% compliance of: Monthly – Safety Committee Meeting attendance Quarterly –safety observations, safety training in the LMS, safety audits, & crew emergency response meetings As needed – safety incident reporting & related follow up action items

  • Evaluates team member work assignments & optimize where necessary

  • Verifies all production specifications and packaging requirements
  • Manages events per protocols
  • Leads a robust asset management and housekeeping program that shows respects for the incoming shift by ensuring the necessary cleaning best practices are planned and completed (general housekeeping, area blitz cleaning, down-to-do cleaning, hot spot cleaning, etc.)
  • Follows escalation plans to prevent poor performance/high scrap and verify support teams are being contacted and verify flow of escalation plan with support teams
  • Utilizes & maintains Outlook calendar to organize individual’s schedule, meetings, and events
  • Achieves > 90% completion of standard work tasks.
  • Completes production orders and efficiency reports for machine lines
  • Audits changeovers for line clearance completion verification
  • Provides support for MES and SAP
  • Provides support for print codes
