About The Position

This position is critical for guaranteeing the effective and prompt delivery of products, sustaining inventory precision, and aiding overall supply chain functions. Recognize, categorize, and oversee both hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Ensure appropriate storage, transport, and disposal of waste materials. Perform waste audits and create strategies for waste reduction. Keep comprehensive records of waste management activities and safety protocols. Primary job location will be at Baytown Tx Technology & Engineering Complex.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining specialized equipment.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop safety protocols.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for training and public outreach.
  • Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent; some positions may prefer a bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • May require certifications such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification.
  • Previous experience in hazardous materials management or environmental safety logistics or supply chain management is often preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination, planning, execution, and monitoring of supply chain operations.
  • Work with logistics managers to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring they are undamaged and accurate.
  • Prepare paperwork for outbound shipments and review shipment documents like bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping supplies.
  • Book outbound orders with freight forwarders or brokers.
  • Coordinate returns of merchandise and manage electronic shipping files.
  • Process incoming shipments, compare received items with shipment orders, and stock them in the warehouse.
  • File all necessary documentation for both incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare packing lists and physically check outgoing materials.
  • Train employees on proper waste handling and disposal techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, especially when handling hazardous materials.
  • Oversee hazardous waste storage areas and prepare hazardous waste shipments.
