About The Position

Amentum is seeking an Operations Security (OPSEC) Specialist to support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in Springfield, VA. The role involves supporting the execution of the day-to-day NGA OPSEC program, administering OPSEC program briefings during NEOS and the Pre-Deployment Seminars, and supporting the NGA OPSEC Working Group. The specialist will also assist in maintaining the Directorate OPSEC Program, conduct content reviews of public release requests, and utilize analytical processes to protect NGA assets. Additionally, the role supports the Information Security Program and the Security Education and Awareness program, developing and implementing security education materials to educate the NGA Workforce on appropriate security practices. The specialist will coordinate and consolidate information to support action items in support of OPSEC and security monitors program, facilitate IC Working Groups, and review public releases for OPSEC compliance.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance and must be willing to undergo a polygraph exam.
  • Expertise and knowledge through the completion of OPSEC training at IOSS, DoD, ODNI, and other training venues.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Pre-Publication release process.
  • Demonstrate experience applying DoDM 5205.02 standards associated with Operations Security (OPSEC).

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrate experience in briefing from various levels.
  • Training with written and oral communication skills.
  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC).
  • Demonstrated experience using online communication programs (such as Microsoft Teams).

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of the day-to-day NGA OPSEC program.
  • Administer OPSEC program briefings during NEOS and the Pre-Deployment Seminars.
  • Support the NGA OPSEC Working Group and become familiar with the KC OPSEC Officers.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Directorate OPSEC Program.
  • Conduct content reviews of public release requests in concert with OCC.
  • Utilize analytical processes to deny adversary information concerning NGA's intentions and capabilities.
  • Support the Information Security Program and the Security Education and Awareness program.
  • Develop and implement security education materials and awareness products.
  • Coordinate and consolidate information to support formal and informal action items.
  • Facilitate the IC Working Groups (OPSEC and Security Monitors).
  • Review NGA public releases and render written recommendations.
  • Assist the government OPSEC team and other SIS Divisions.
  • Develop products to market the program.
  • Update and maintain appropriate records related to OPSEC.
  • Conduct continual research into cutting edge OPSEC trends.
