About The Position

Serve as a technical expert and leader in laboratory operations for compound logistics, integrating advanced business technology and IT solutions to optimize workflows and address critical business needs. This position independently identifies, develops, and implements technology-driven solutions for efficient, compliant lab processes, leveraging expertise in data integration, analysis, and visualization. The role supports both daily operations and strategic initiatives, continuously seeking to improve existing methods, and acts as a business systems analyst to advance laboratory outcomes and business objectives. 50% of this role will be the operational lead for a high production lab.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with typically 5 years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree with typically 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Background in life sciences or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software development, data warehousing, statistics, machine learning, and laboratory automation tools.
  • Ability to multitask, work within timelines, and modify approaches to achieve project objectives.
  • Strong written and oral English communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, understand, and master new technologies and methods.
  • Experience in maintaining technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical and healthcare business practices, including GxP, safety, and data security compliance.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and act as a resource or mentor for others.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on technology-driven operational improvement.
  • Previous experience in management of research samples highly desired.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Independently design and develop business technology solutions to address scientific and operational questions by integrating, visualizing, and analyzing large and complex data sets relevant to lab operations and compound logistics.
  • Oversee daily laboratory and compound logistics operations, including inventory management, resource allocation, and compliance with company and regulatory policies.
  • Continuously assess and optimize lab workflows using automation and IT tools, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and system roadmaps.
  • Utilize data collection and analysis tools to support ongoing lab projects; maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures in accordance with GxP and data security standards.
  • Diagnose operational and technology issues systematically, recommend IT-driven strategies, and develop solutions that align technology with business objectives.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for GCLO lab processes; provide training and mentorship to local and global team members, and advise on process improvements, system enhancements, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to drive operational efficiency and successful execution in laboratory and logistics domains.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and manage project plans to ensure milestones are achieved for lab operations and system-related initiatives.
  • Guide and support junior team members in both operational and technical areas to foster expertise and professional growth across the team.
  • Facilitate effective communication and knowledge sharing between lab operations and systems teams to ensure alignment with best practices and corporate standards.
