About The Position

Operations Research Analyst The Opportunity: As an expert in defense missions, your unique background inspires you to think bigger, push further, and ask questions others don’t. We need your extensive industry knowledge and advisory skills to solve some of our clients’ most complex problems—and find solutions that keep our nation safe. As an Operations Research and Systems Analyst (ORSA), you will be responsible for the assessment of real-world military operations and exercises. This is an analytical role focused on capturing and interpreting empirical data to measure operational effectiveness against strategic and operational plans. You will translate complex space and joint operational challenges into clear, defensible analytical frameworks, evaluate courses of action, identify risks, tradeoffs, and capability gaps, and deliver decision-quality products with measurable success criteria for senior leaders. You will also work within an integrated assessment team to provide commanders with quantitative insights into force performance. This position requires the ability to travel up to 10% of the time and is located at Vandenberg SFB, CA. Join us. The world can't wait.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience performing quantitative or analytical work on complex technical, operational, or organizational problems
  • Experience applying operations research or analytical techniques, such as modeling, statistical analysis, simulation, or optimization to support decision-making
  • Experience integrating and analyzing data from multiple sources and presenting results clearly, such as briefings, reports, dashboards, or Power-BI
  • Ability to develop practical, creative solutions in ambiguous or fast-paced settings
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Quantitative field and 5+ years of experience in data analysis, or 9+ years of experience in data analysis in lieu of a degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DoD/DoW, Space Force, or joint planning organizations, such as Component, Combatant Command, or HQ-level staff
  • Experience with modeling, simulation, wargaming, or operational testing environments
  • Experience with space systems and capabilities and Joint Publication 3-14
  • Experience with cloud-based data or analytics platforms
  • Experience in data analysis and manipulation using Python, NumPy, or Pandas
  • Possession of strong problem-solving skills
  • Master's degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field preferred
