About The Position

Specialty Program Group (SPG) is the wholesale & MGA division of HUB International. SPG acts in a holding company capacity acquiring best in class underwriting businesses to operate independently under distinct brands (portfolio companies). Position: Operations Project Manager Position Overview Specialty Program Group has an opportunity for a project manager within the Operations division to manage critical, enterprise-changing initiatives. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator who welcomes challenges, and always drives for the best business outcome. Seeking a leader who will bring a perspective, contribute to the intellectual strength of the Operations team, and work with a mindset of continual improvement.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 5 + years delivering projects in P&C Insurance industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects and work in a challenging environment.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, critical thinking, writing, and editing skills.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to apply common sense to complex challenges to drive to resolution.
  • Innovative and self-starter attitude
  • Proficiency in MS Office software, especially Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
  • 4-8 years of Project Management Experience
  • Enthusiastic about delivering business value to business partners and end-users.
  • Customer centric mindset that anticipates business needs and responds positively to feedback.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects that vary in scope and size.
  • Excellent at presentation and persuasion; know how to adjust message for the audience.
  • Business process design and business analysis experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, high visibility initiatives, toward achieving business objectives.
  • Develop in-depth understanding of SPG’s business goals to plan and execute effective project delivery strategy.
  • Create collaborative environment among business teams, internal IT teams, and vendors.
  • Hold vendors and strategic partners accountable for delivering the scope, timeline, and business benefits as promised in statements of work.
  • Understand and anticipate the priorities of the business through building productive working relationships with SPG business colleagues.
  • Manage key projects and make sure that key priorities, budgets, and deliverables are on track.
  • Develop detailed project plans & status reports to guide clients, employees, project team members and partner vendors on commitments and revise in accordance with changing needs and requirements.
  • Identifying and assigning project tasks based on skill sets, experience, and strengths of available resources.
  • Monitoring and reporting project performance to ensure timely delivery.
  • Collaborating effectively with stakeholders to achieve project implementation.
  • Develop excellent leadership, customer relations and communication skills to consult effectively with all project stakeholders.
  • Proactively anticipates risks, opportunities, dependencies and costs, plan resources, milestones, and deliverables to manage and implement projects.
  • Manage and resolve the risks and issues effectively, using the appropriate project forums to escalate items as appropriate.
  • Facilitate business and operational relationships between vendor partners and internal teams with effective and efficient communication to ensure accurate and timely project delivery.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to address challenges, risks, and issues.
