This opportunity is for an Operations Program Manager (OPM) within the Strategic Defense Solutions Organization. In this role you will bridge the Supply Chain and Program teams for proprietary programs, managing materials with unique program requirements. The OPM will be responsible for the development, coordination, and execution of all program direct procurement strategies. The OPM will serve as the liaison to the procurement organization on behalf of the Sr. Program Operations Manager (Sr. POM) and other Program/Portfolio leadership. The OPM will report on material availability, report lead times, aggressively pull lead times left, maintain a Line of Balance for supported programs, and may be delegated Control Account Manager responsibilities for material from the Sr. POM. The ideal candidate will be an independent worker requiring minimal oversight and have excellent attention to detail. The selected candidate must possess supply chain experience in classified environments, ideally with direct purchasing experience. He or she must also possess strong leadership skills and the ability to convey effective direction using strong written and verbal skills. This position will require frequent interaction with various internal customers.

  • Single point of contact to procurement organization and internal customers, including Program Office, Quality, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Contracts
  • Support Supply Chain proposal activities including task descriptions and basis of estimates, Price to Win strategies; ability to develop and communicate SCM business plans including small business and SCM risk mitigation plans
  • Monitor and improve performance metrics to support program material requirements; provide written and verbal reports to program leadership
  • Represent the Supply Chain organization on policies, strategies, and objectives, oversee all SC activities needed to meet program requirements
  • Ensure partnerships with various SC functions in addition to Production Control and Operations
  • Assist the make/buy/where process
  • Lead and support risk/opportunity mitigation plans to meet program objectives
  • Partner cross functionally with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to create common schedule based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
  • Maintain and assess the integrity of the MRP environment and the programs’ schedule within that environment while balancing supply and demand to allow for an executable schedule
  • Travel as required to suppliers and work locations as business needs dictate (5%; travel is infrequent)
  • Participate in weekly supplier engagements to ensure required performance is met
  • Overall ownership of the supplier and finance management process (i.e., Risk/Opportunity, Line of Balance, Metrics, Material sales forecasts)
  • Provide pertinent information to procurement to expedite ordering and receipt of parts to ensure continuous production
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a supply chain role and/or program/project management
  • Minimum 5 years experience working with suppliers
  • Experience purchasing materials for Classified Aerospace & Defense programs
  • Experience with SAP/PRISM and the Supply Chain suite of tools
  • Technical knowledge of related hardware applications, as well as knowledge of operational and manufacturing processes (assembly, integration, and test)
  • Experience with managing Software suppliers
  • Experience managing a team of Buyers organized by commodity
  • Experience collaborating with Subcontract Program Managers and business leadership
  • Experience with government regulations (i.e., FAR/DFAR, ITAR/EAR, TINA, etc.)
  • Prior experience as a Material Program Manager, Buyer, or Subcontract Manager
