About The Position

The Platforms and Devices Vendor Management Office (P&D VMO) team is the central vendor operations team supporting the Platforms and Devices products. We partner with stakeholders across various Product Areas across P&D and provide support including but not limited to operations consulting, vendor management, operational reporting and analytics, drive cross-product area programs and help operationalize product’s goal in a compliant and scalable manner. The goal of this team is to increase productivity of our stakeholders and bring in economies of scale, efficiency and operational diligence by deploying vendor operations and innovative AI tools. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management, strategy operations, or a related field.
  • Experience managing operational processes and data reporting.
  • Experience developing program documentation, (e.g., presentation slides design, program plans, and gantt charts, etc.) to guide program alignment and execution.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Master's degree in a technical or engineering field.
  • Experience within a Vendor Management Office (VMO) or a high-growth tech operations environment.
  • Experience with fiscal management including Operational Expenditure (OpEx) budget tracking and forecasting.
  • Experience in data visualization using tools like Sheets or Google AI tools to build data visualization and insightful data reports.
  • Ability to self-sustain guide high-stakes special projects and program management with a strong bias for action.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners and lead initiatives without formal authority.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute prioritized program work, self-sustaining guide the tactical execution of the VMO's strategic goals and program managing the execution of high-stake special projects and VMO AI programs.
  • Deliver strategic communications directed toward a variety of stakeholder groups to share information, demonstrating highly proficient communication skills by building compelling narratives and storylines.
  • Demonstrate ease at working with data to extract insights, track key program performance, and track organization health metrics.
  • Identify and recommend creative ways to improve operational process inefficiencies in current VMO workflows, designing scalable processes that improve team velocity.
  • Partner with VMO leadership to develop, define, track, and execute the VMO’s annual and quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), ensuring all initiatives are measurable.
