Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience; OR a Master’s Degree with 6 or more years of relevant work experience; OR a PhD with 4 or more years of relevant work experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager.
  • 5 or more years of demonstrated experience leading teams/projects and or organizations to achieve a common goal.
  • Experience with MS Office products - PowerPoint, Project, Excel, Word.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP system in a manufacturing environment.
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience.
  • Experience with managing production in SAP in a low volume, high mix manufacturing environment.
  • Mission Program Life Cycle Tools/Applications experience.
  • MS SharePoint management experience.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Management.
  • PMI certification and/or PMI-based training.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management Concepts and Techniques.
  • Experience with Cost Factors established for estimating and pricing, command of Manufacturing factors.
  • Government contract experience.
  • Experience with hardware production proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of program manufacturing from inception through completion.
  • Lead and coordinate manufacturing activity across the program life cycle, from capture/proposal through execution/production and contract closeout.
  • Coordinate the preparation of operating budgets and manufacturing plans.
  • Act as the primary customer/PM contact for all manufacturing activities.
  • Lead program review sessions with customer/PM to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Support/establish manufacturing milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
  • Identify problems and quickly obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources and process waste removal/improvement.
  • Coordinate the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing, financial, and administrative areas.
  • Guide a multi-function organization aligned to common manufacturing performance goals.
  • Cultivate internal customer relationships.
  • Develop long term strategic planning, and development of proposals and business plans.
  • Lead and direct cross-functional Integrated Program Teams (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives on manufacturing scope.
  • Measure and report program performance.
  • Deliver presentations to executive management and other program stakeholders.
  • Participate in the creation, review and finalization of the manufacturing Statement of Work.
  • Identify, distribute, track, and complete program requirements.
  • Establish and manage the program and subordinate baselines.
  • Develop and adhere to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar cost & schedule control methodologies and tools.
  • Identify, allocate, and manage program resources, including workforce planning.
  • Manage Government/customer supplied property or information (GFE, CFE, etc.).
  • Ensure Operations team understands and adheres to contract scope, and manages change through control board activities.
  • Conduct thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation, and realization.
