As an Operations Production Support Tax Specialist in Employee Benefit Distributions you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA. Operations Production Support Tax Specialist will work together to create new solutions which will provide our clients with an exceptional customer experience. Valued opinions, supported by collaborative teams, impact the success of AMG Ops. This position is on the Audit and Control Team within EB Distributions.

  • Reconciling and remitting tax payments to federal and state tax authorities.
  • Balancing transactions and withholding from pension and lump sum payments to ensure accurate tax filings.
  • Balancing the annual production of 1099R and 1042S tax forms before they are sent to participants.
  • Coordinating the annual W8 Solicitation and distributing annual withholding election notices.
  • Testing periodic tax updates and other enhancements to our application.
  • Ensuring appropriate procedures are aligned with our controls and that our controls are appropriate.
  • Working with internal and external auditors and researching complex problems.
  • Monitoring uncashed check, escheatment, and returned mail.
  • Recommending enhancements to the applications that our system interfaces with.
  • Participating in new account conversions, projects, and other tasks as needed.
  • Experience in accounting, payroll, and/or tax specific to the functions outlined.
  • High attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Complex problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task and re-prioritize.
  • Effective communication skills and comfort interacting with individuals across many departments.
  • Experience in employee benefit, pension, 401(k), and/or trust.
