The Operations Planning and Automation Intern will have hands-on experience in automating operational models, forecasting staffing requirements, and developing self-service analytics tools for internal stakeholders. The role will collaborate with experienced analysts to streamline processes, improve data accessibility, and support strategic decision-making related to crew training and manpower planning.

  • Assist in automating operational models and key performance indicators using SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, and Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Support the development of dashboards and reporting tools that reduce manual analysis and improve data accessibility.
  • Contribute to predictive modeling for crew and maintenance staffing levels to ensure operational supportability.
  • Analyze trends and variances in staffing data and propose actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review business requirements and translate them into efficient analytical processes.
  • Create process maps to visualize workflows and identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
  • Design and implement self-service analytics solutions for internal stakeholders to access and interpret operational data independently.
  • Support the maintenance of PSA's operations data repository and ensure accuracy across models and reports.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize and document processes.
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for process improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive attitude and a desire to learn.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Experience or coursework in SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, or Microsoft Power Apps is a plus.
