Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Three years of professional experience in developmental disabilities, special education, mental health, counseling, guidance, social work, health or rehabilitative programs.
  • A master's degree can substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • One year of experience writing formal business communications, including emails.
  • Four years of professional experience supervising or serving in a leadership role.

  • Experience with recovery plans and continuing quality improvement.
  • Experience implementing patient services and retaining timeframes.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct employees, communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating them.
  • Plan and direct work, with authority to recommend actions such as hiring, transferring, suspending, laying off, promoting, discharging, assigning, and rewarding or disciplining direct reports.
  • Ensure Recovery Planning for persons residing in the state mental health treatment facility is completed as assigned.
  • Coordinate the receipt and distribution of schedules for Recovery Team meetings.
  • Review reports and treatment plans generated by the Mental Health Program Analyst to ensure consistency with established standards.
  • Monitor meetings to ensure relevant standards and requirements are met.
  • Assist Mental Health Program Analysts in obtaining requested resources for treatment team members.
  • Provide direct supervision of Qualified Mental Health Professionals.
  • Monitor resident charts to ensure timely completion of Recovery Plans and related documentation.
  • Respond to internal and external requests/inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Provide consultation relevant to state, federal, and professional guidelines for service planning and delivery.
  • Assist in identifying, planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating quality improvement initiatives.
  • Complete audits and provide feedback to Mental Health Program Analysts.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and department meetings.
  • Provide comprehensive training to new Service Planning department members.
