About The Position

Description Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) powers Oracle’s global cloud services through highly available, large-scale, enterprise-grade data center environments. The Data Center Infrastructure Operations / Facilities team plays a critical role in sustaining OCI’s performance, security, and operational resilience by ensuring infrastructure systems operate reliably at scale. You will join a technically rigorous organization with a culture grounded in operational excellence, disciplined processes, and continuous improvement, where infrastructure reliability, safety, and execution quality are foundational to delivering cloud services worldwide. Role Overview As an Operations Electrical Engineer, you will provide engineering ownership for the reliability, safety, and lifecycle performance of mission-critical electrical systems supporting hyperscale data centers. You will set technical direction, drive corrective actions for high-impact events, and guide upgrades and standards that protect uptime.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in high-reliability electrical design/operations for data centers, utilities, or mission-critical facilities.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering; PE preferred where relevant.
  • Familiarity with power analysis tools (e.g., SKM/ETAP/EasyPower) and safety expectations (arc flash, protective coordination).
  • Strong technical judgment and ability to communicate risk and options clearly to mixed audiences.
  • Evidence-based problem solving and disciplined follow-through on corrective actions.
  • Ability to influence across teams through standards, analysis, and operational alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain electrical engineering standards for high-availability infrastructure (switchgear, UPS, batteries, generators, grounding, distribution).
  • Lead or support complex troubleshooting, power quality analysis, incident investigations, and RCA for high-impact or recurring events.
  • Provide engineering guidance for upgrades, retrofits, and expansions, including design review, commissioning support, and operational acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with site operations to improve maintainability, safe execution, and documentation quality (procedures, one-lines, settings, test plans).
  • Coordinate with utilities and regulatory stakeholders as required; ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NFPA/IEEE/ANSI and local requirements).
  • Review technical documentation and ensure consistent engineering quality across sites.
