As an Operations Mechanic, you'll be responsible for maintaining base building utilities including cooling towers, air compressors, ammonia systems, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, VAV boxes, and other mechanical systems. You'll work with mission-critical systems such as UPS, generators, ATS's, diesel-driven fire pumps, and chillers while utilizing Building Management Systems (BMS) and building automation platforms. The position requires a strong focus on safety compliance, and predictive and preventative maintenance programs.

  • Perform daily data entries and equipment rounds to monitor system performance
  • Execute predictive, planned, preventative, and routine maintenance using the Maximo CMMS
  • Conduct visual and operational inspections of pumps, fans, valves, and motors
  • Rebuild pumps and electric motors in-house and perform laser alignment procedures
  • Respond to service requests and troubleshoot system issues
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job standards to complete assigned tasks
  • Analyze work problems and implement solutions to achieve operational goals
  • Train and mentor team members across HVAC, mechanical maintenance, and water system operations
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols, especially for energized work, working at heights, and confined spaces
  • Document maintenance activities and recommend improvements to equipment performance
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workplace
  • Participate in technical and safety training programs
  • High school diploma and trade school or apprentice program completion
  • 3-5+ years of direct experience in facility/plant engineering maintenance
  • Experience in manufacturing or GMP/ISO environments
  • Critical facilities experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safe work practices and risk assessment
  • Proficiency with UPS, generators, and ATS systems
  • Experience with diesel-driven fire pumps and chillers
  • Knowledge of multiple BMS platforms and building automation systems
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and email systems
  • Ability to use handheld electronic devices and web-based applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Flexibility to work non-standard shifts
  • Well-organized with attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to train other team members
  • Trade license in a mechanical field
  • CFC Universal certification
  • Mass refrigeration license
  • Experience with laser alignment equipment
  • Background in pump and motor rebuilding
  • Additional technical certifications relevant to building systems
