The Operations Manager position directs and supervises the automated assembly and post end of line functions through production staff ensuring quality (internally and externally) products, health and safety, and cost efficiencies. This position is also responsible for contributing to a safe workplace and minimizing negative impacts by complying with the EHS policies, procedures, work instructions outlined in the EHSMS Training Assessment for this position.

  • Directs and supervises production team, production supervision, and manufacturing engineering providing technical assistance and guidance in their respective areas of responsibility.
  • Serves as a liaison with other Tenneco companies regarding techniques and technology.
  • Attends management planning and analysis meetings and participates in policy making decisions.
  • Trains and motivates production and engineering team members and staff personnel.
  • Prepares budget for capital planning for equipment purchases in production areas.
  • Responsible for the development of engineers and other departmental staff.
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual budget.
  • Ensures that machining, inspection, and post end of line functions adhere to quality standards, techniques, and processes and is responsible of proper troubleshooting and improvement if standards are not met.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business administration.
  • Five (5) years experience in manufacturing and/or engineering with two (2) years managerial experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates leadership ability, conflict resolution and problem solving.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of management and hourly employees.
  • Work requires ability to delegate assignments, supervise and train employees in order to meet deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy, are necessary to supervise employees in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Must be able to counsel, guide and evaluate the work of others in a manner that motivates the achievement of company goals.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Must be willing to travel.
