About The Position

The Operations Manager at DB Schenker is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of day-light operations to ensure scheduled departures and high service levels while maintaining cost efficiency. This role involves planning, managing, and controlling various operational functions, including equipment management, ramp functions, and sort functions, while ensuring safety and productivity standards are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 0-2 years of related supervisory experience preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and control all aspects of the day-light operation to achieve scheduled departures and provide high service levels at the lowest cost.
• Plan, manage and control the UFO re-forwarding function.
• Plan, manage and control the equipment management function, including FAA Repair Station, equipment maintenance, and tracking.
• Maintain and implement plans to uphold productivity, safety standards, quality, cost control, and employee morale.
• Manage and control ramp functions, including loading of aircraft, weight balance, loading documentation, and maintaining power to grounded aircraft.
• Manage and control sort functions, including sorting freight, loading and unloading ULDs and totes, weighing cargo, and controlling mis-shipments.
• Verify freight with shipping documents to ensure proper routing.
• Identify and report on damaged freight.
• Implement and evaluate policies, procedures, and practices related to operations.
• Ensure a safe working environment through consistent practice of safety programs and procedures.
• Select, place, and train staff, defining specific job assignments and managing performance to meet productivity and organizational objectives.
