The Operations Manager at Texas A&M University Health Science Center is responsible for overseeing business operations and day-to-day activities within the organization. This role involves collaborating with leadership to plan, develop, and implement workflows and business processes, ensuring efficient operational support for various projects and initiatives.

  • Manage operations for designated projects, ensuring maintenance, organization, and enhancements of departmental functions.
  • Evaluate project requirements and provide support for long-term planning initiatives.
  • Support the Executive Director in overseeing facility space needs, including preparing the annual space report and allocating space for external units.
  • Maintain emergency preparedness documents and policies, serving as a liaison to HSC College Station, the School of Law, and TAMUS.
  • Support the Executive Director and Communications Manager with managing digital content.
  • Develop and oversee documentation related to protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute operational insights for strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
  • Coordinate with the Institute Director in developing and implementing strategies to identify potential partners.
  • Serve as additional liaison for external parties concerning assigned faculty members, students, and other Institute affiliates.
  • Plan and organize logistical and administrative support for large-scale Institute events, meetings, and other special functions.
  • Maintain internal financial and budget records for operations.
  • Develop and monitor progress on high-level work plans, schedules, and budgets for major projects and contracts.
  • Manage the procurement process for projects and reconcile billing and expenses.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure advantageous terms and pricing.
  • Produce regular financial reports to analyze spending patterns, budget discrepancies, and overall financial health.
  • Create and update training materials for administrative processes and operational tasks.
  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of experience in program management, project management, office management or related areas.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of (or willingness to learn) office software and instructional programs.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience in higher education.
