We take great pride in the service and quality of work we provide to our customers and are searching for an Operations Manager to join our Vancouver team! This Operations Manager is responsible for overall branch performance in Vancouver, WA, including revenue growth, margin improvement, operational excellence, and team leadership. This role drives disciplined execution across planning, scheduling, production, and delivery while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. The Operations Manager oversees construction operations across multiple projects, ensuring disciplined execution in planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and delivery. This role is accountable for meeting high standards in quality, safety, timelines, and budget while driving strong regional performance. In addition, the Operations Manager plays a key role in expanding the market, developing crews, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting overall business growth. Success in this position requires strong field leadership, financial ownership, and the ability to align people, processes, and execution to deliver consistent results.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of construction operations, equipment, and safety guidelines.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, ability to effectively work in a team.
  • P&L or financial accountability experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and scope documents.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

  • Experience managing multiple crews, projects, or a branch/region preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Owns full accountability for branch performance, including revenue growth, gross margin, crew productivity, backlog health, and overall operational execution.
  • Owns branch-level financial performance including revenue, gross margin, labor productivity, backlog health, and cash flow discipline.
  • Reviews forecasts and ensures performance aligns with the business plan.
  • Maintains and strengthens customer relationships by delivering quality workmanship, ensuring satisfaction and long-term partnerships, and promptly and accurately troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Drives schedule accuracy by consistently aligning work to plan, identifies gaps and takes corrective action, and ensures dependable, on-time execution across all operations.
  • Leads production by optimizing resources, controlling costs, and ensuring efficient execution without compromising safety or quality.
  • Analyzes project plans, specifications, and site conditions to prepare accurate plans.
  • Conducts regular site visits to monitor progress and coordinates jobsite preparation by locating utilities, identifying potential problems, restrictions, and construction barriers, including no park arrangements and access planning, and communicates these issues in a timely manner.
  • Schedules, sets deadlines, and communicates project expectations for field operations to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Organizes resources, provides, direction and assists in resolving problems.
  • Partners with estimating, operations, and leadership to identify and convert opportunities in the Portland market, supporting regional growth initiatives.
  • Clearly communicates scope, expectations, and safety requirements to Superintendent prior to project start.
  • Provides ongoing support and direction throughout project execution.
  • Oversees job tracking and documentation in Field Service (FS), ensuring accurate and timely entry of work orders, tickets, and job details.
  • Monitors projects in progress to ensure execution on contract terms, quality control, cost compliance, safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures accurate billing, strong cash flow management, and timely collections in coordination with finance.
  • Leads and develops field and office teams, including superintendents and foremen, by setting clear expectations, reinforcing accountability, and building a strong, performance-driven culture.
  • Recruit, coach, and retain top talent.
  • Ensures the health and safety of the team by promoting and complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes in compliance with local, state, federal and company rules and regulations.
