Operations Manager

Budd GroupCharlotte, NC

About The Position

At The Budd Group, we don’t just hire employees; we build partnerships with future leaders. We are looking for a high-energy, professional Janitorial Operations Manager to lead our Charlotte region. This isn't a "desk job"—it’s a dynamic, multi-site leadership role overseeing Class A multi-tenant environments, corporate headquarters, and medical facility services. We are a company that famously promotes from within, led by managers who are "fair but tough" coaches dedicated to your growth. The Budd Group is a family‑owned facilities services company that provides customized janitorial, maintenance, landscaping, and specialty support solutions to commercial and institutional properties throughout the Southeast.

Requirements

  • Education: Completion of a college degree is required (Minimum 2-year Associate degree; 4-year Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: Previous management experience is essential. While cleaning industry experience is a plus, we are willing to train a candidate with the right professional pedigree.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional professional writing skills are mandatory. Candidates must be able to convey complex thoughts clearly and conduct deep research.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable and experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, and CRM systems (Salesforce experience is a plus).
  • Availability: Primarily day shift, but must have the flexibility to respond to emergencies or client needs during evenings or weekends.
  • Attributes: Military background is a significant plus. Must be "thick-skinned," coachable, and highly organized with strong time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for multiple Class A clients, responding to all inquiries and concerns within a two-hour window.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage a diverse portfolio of accounts, ensuring high-level cleaning and facility service delivery across single-tenant, multi-tenant, and medical sites.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and develop a team of approximately 10 direct W2 reports and up to 35 service partner/subcontractor employees.
  • Quality Control: Perform rigorous site visits and physical inspections, documenting all findings accurately within Salesforce.
  • Administrative Excellence: Maintain an organized workflow, including managing an active inbox, scheduling interviews, and overseeing payroll and budgets for a $1M book of business.
  • Problem Resolution: Proactively identify "nitpicky" details and customer pain points, implementing immediate corrective actions and following up to ensure 100% satisfaction.
  • Engagement: Actively participate in the "Beehive" (internal platform) to encourage team morale and stay aligned with corporate culture and training.

Benefits

  • Professional Development: Structured, hands-on training with Branch Managers and Field Training specialists, including RBSM training opportunities.
  • Career Growth: A proven "promote from within" culture where high performers are rewarded with increased responsibility and compensation.
  • Mentorship: Direct access to experienced leadership committed to your long-term career trajectory.
  • Work-Life Flexibility: Autonomy to manage your own schedule; if you put in the work to get the job done, we support the flexibility you need to balance your life.
